PASCO, Wash. — A pursuit came to an end when the suspect was run over by the vehicle he stole.
Pasco police tried to pull over Brandon E. Arrieta in an area where a crash was reported, but he refused to stop, ABC13 reported.
The front left tire of the vehicle Arrieta was driving fell off during the pursuit, causing the car to slow down. Arrieta jumped out and tried to flee on foot, but his sleeve got caught on the car’s door and he tumbled toward the front of the car.
He fell onto the street. The car then rolled over him and dragged him “about a car length,” police told the news station.
While the suspect was still underneath the vehicle, police arrested him. He was charged with vehicle theft and eluding. The suspect was offered medical treatment after police detained him.
