A San Antonio police detective was fired in October after officials said he lied in order to engage in an unauthorized car chase, police records show.
This is the second time Detective Leroy Medlin Jr. has been terminated from the San Antonio Police Department for the same infractions. He was reinstated after appealing his 2015 firing and he has appealed the most recent decision as well.
His attorney, Ben Sifuentes, was not immediately available for comment. A letter from Sifuentes to the police department’s Civil Service Commission says Medlin denies the charges and describes his punishment as “excessive.”
