GREENWICH — Officers arrested a suspect who allegedly drove away from police pursuit after stealing merchandise from a local auto dealership — hitting a utility pole in the process, police said.
Kyle Taylor, 29, of Highland Place, Yonkers, N.Y., was behind the wheel of a car that took off from New Country Audi on West Putnam Avenue on Sept. 20, after stealing tires and rims, Greenwich police said Monday. His car hit a pole, knocking out power to the neighborhood around Field Point Road for several hours, police said, and Taylor later took off on foot.
Taylor turned himself in at police headquarters late last week. He was charged with a felony count of larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny, engaging in a police pursuit, criminal mischief and evading responsibility. Bail was set at $100,000.
