2 arrested in Pleasant Hill homicide after a high-speed chase through Arizona. Two suspects were arrested in connection with a murder at a Pleasant Hill home in what appears to be a botched marijuana deal.

Luther Lee, 24, of Columbus, Ga., was taken into custody Monday by Arizona state troopers on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and murder. He was arrested during a traffic stop.

Keith Jones, 29, of Cusseta, Ga., was arrested Monday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and murder after leading police on a high-speed chase that started in Arizona and crossed over the state border into New Mexico, according to the Pleasant Hill Police Department.

The two men are accused of killing Oshry Elor, 23, who died Saturday in Pleasant Hill in what police believe was a marijuana-related home invasion. Officers responded to a report of a person with gunshot wounds in the 2100 block of Norse Drive at 11:14 p.m. Inside the residence, officers found Elor, who had been shot multiple times.

Investigators tracked down Lee and Jones on Interstate 40 in Arizona and believed the two were en-route to Georgia. After notifying the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Lee was taken into during a traffic stop, police said. He and two others reportedly got out of the vehicle and Lee was arrested on an outstanding warrant by the Pleasant Hill Police Department. The other passengers, who were not identified, were detained briefly and released.

One vehicle occupant, later identified as Jones, attempted to flee the scene, police said. Arizona state troopers reportedly trailed him for about 90 miles at speeds in excess of 120 mph before the tires of his car were deflated with the use of a spike strip after he crossed the New Mexico state border. Jones was then taken into custody.

Jones is being held at the McKinley County Adult Detention Center in New Mexico. Lee was booked at the Navajo County Detention Center in Arizona.

This is the third marijuana robbery that involved suspects out of state this year.

In March, seven men from North Carolina and Virginia were arrested after invading three Petaluma homes in the hopes of stealing cannabis, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said. A woman was later arrested in Winston-Salem, N.C., as the eight suspect in the incidents.

In February, two violent home invasions carried out by five suspects — some of whom were from the East Coast — were carried out to steal guns and cannabis. Four suspects were arrested after those invasions and one woman fled the scene.

The suspects were residents of Mississippi, New York, and Virginia.
